1187 affected by Dengue in Odisha ,state fails to control Dengue Outbreak

The outbreak has started!!!!

Bhubaneswar: Dengue cases are on the rise in Odisha after 78 new cases were detected on Friday. With this, the total number of patients from 20 districts touched 1,187. The disease took two lives so far, said official sources.



The worst affected district, Keonjhar, witnessed a surge of positive cases from 725 on Thursday to 785 on Friday while Cuttack witnessed 14 new cases on Friday taking the count from 199 to 213, according to data provided by National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (NVBDCP) joint director Madan Mohan Pradhan.The industrial belt of the state - Barbil in Keonjhar district and Jagatpur in Cuttack - were marked as severely affected after 735 positive cases have been reported from Barbil while Jagatpur registered 107 cases.

Union tribal affairs minister Jual Oram met union health and family welfare minister JP Nadda and submitted a letter requesting him to send a central medical team to take stock of the dengue situation in Odisha. He apprised Nadda about the situation in Barbil and Jagatpur. Nadda assured Oram to send a central team to take stock of the situation
