Bhubaneswar: Seven more cases of dreaded vector-borne disease dengue have been identified in Barbil.
With the total number of positive cases climbing up to 772 as the number of blood samples sent for laboratory testing reached 2,675.
The outbreak has been a major headache for the administration as it is toiling on a war footing to control the epidemic with safety health measures like free check up, free blood sample treatment, free medicines been made available in the mining prone and industrial city.
Earlier on Saturday, an expert from Vector Borne Disease Control Programme, New Delhi Additional Director Gagansingh Sonal arrived and took stock of the situation confirming that there is nothing to panic as the situation is under control.
Similarly, Union Health Minister FS Kulaste also took note of the ground zero scenario during his visit to the State to attend the fourth foundation day of AIIMS.
