Two more dengue deaths in Odisha; one more industrial unit sealed


Two more dengue deaths have been reported in a day in Odisha today taking the toll to six.
According to reports, two more persons died in the state—one in Barbil and other in Cuttack.
One Malli Gop from Ward No 14 under Barbil Municipalty area died this morning. She was undergoing treatment at home.
On the other hand, a dengue patient from Atuda area in Jagatpur was admitted to SCB Medical College and Hospital (SCBMCH) in Cuttack this morning. The patient identified as Chaturbhuja Parida, however, died in the afternoon while undergoing treatment, hospital sources said.
Notably, this is the third dengue death at SCBMCH.
In a related development, the district administration today sealed one more industrial unit for not adhering to the stipulated guidelines to maintain hygiene in the area facilitating breeding ground for the dengue mosquitoes.
According to sources, the officials sealed Jagananth Food Company following an inspection of the premises of the food processing firm. With this, four companies have been sealed in the industrial zone.
This apart, eight units have been served show-cause notices in Jagatpur area for failing to mobilise sanitation teams.
